'Aboriginal Guardian and Watchmen Programs in Canada: Recommendations for building successful programs' shared by Ecotrust Canada and Northeast Superior Regional Chiefs' Forum was prepared in 2013. It provides a brief overview of a number of excellent examples in Canada of Aboriginal leadership in land stewardship, industry monitoring, ecological research, youth mentorship, and the preservation and restoration of cultural sites. Each program has its own unique attributes according to the interests and priorities of the sponsoring Nation and the circumstances of their homeland.
