Northeast Superior Guardianship Program
The Wahkohtowin Development program is designed to engage multi-sectors in forest, water, land and animal monitoring of importance, as well as use and occupancy of area First Nations. Currently through Forest Tenure reform each of our First Nations are also embarking on establishing Stewardship Departments - home to community-based Guardians.
Wahkohtowin Development was born as a response to the lack of full participation in Natural Resource Management, Planning and Use, in our Natural Law terminology - Stewardship.
