Unama'ki Institute of Natural Resources

Things we are monitoring

Fishery guardians are responsible for monitoring aquatic resources, and Land Guardians help to establish and monitor Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCA).

About our program

Guardians are a critical part of the Unama'ki Institute of Natural Resources' role in protecting the unceded Mi'kmaw territory of Unama'ki in Nova Scotia. Fishery and Land Guardians play an important role in monitoring and conserving natural and cultural resources.
