Importance of Reflection & Reporting

A ‘consistent habit of reflection and innovation’ is really just a way of thinking about your program that uses trial and error and experiential learning together with information and observation to
figure out what works. When you take time to gather and interpret information about your program, you make space for coming up with new ideas and making adjustments based on what you learn. You also get a sense of where you’re making progress on your goals and where you’re coming up short, which can help you make better decisions about how you’re using your resources and energy. Together, monitoring and evaluation are all about finding ways to make your program better by taking time to step back and reflect on what you’re doing.
