Indigenous Mapping Workshop

The 5th annual Indigenous Mapping Workshop took place August 20 - 23, 2018 in Montreal, Quebec.  The workshop hosted more than 300 community mapping practitioners from across North America, including people involved in Indigenous Guardian programs.  Participants learned how to use various tools (including Google, Esri Canada, QGIS, and other geospatial tools) to collect, host, visualize, share, and publish community data.

Training materials and recorded conference sessions are available from previous Indigenous Mapping Workshops and explore a broad range of topics including tools for environmental monitoring such as Google Earth, Open Data Kit, and QGIS.  These materials may be relevant for people involved in Indigenous Guardian programs developing and implementing monitoring plans.
