Things we are monitoring
  • Current activities include: land-based youth programs, growing regional initiatives.
  • Future activities: environmental monitoring, water monitoring, community-driven research initiatives, data management, visitor interactions, and youth programs.
About our program

Working to develop a regional initiative called Dehcho K'ehodi Stewardship Program which will have a Guardian component. Our communities, leaders and elders have told us that conservation from the Dene perspective will follow three principles -

  1. Dene language revitalization,
  2. youth/elder mentorship, and
  3. honouring the Dene laws - these will form the foundation of our stewardship programs.

Moving forward our goal is to support community-led stewardship activities and develop a regional network.
