Guardians program will focus on training, engaging traditional knowledge holders, keyoh huwunli’ne, Elders and youth while conducting program activities. Training and field work will focus on building capacity in the Nation and add to Indigenous knowledge data capturing important Tl’azt’enne rights, values and interests. The Guardians will monitor and sample information from the territory including, but not limited to, industrial activities, hunting, fishing, recreation (camping, hiking, motorized and non-motorized all-terrain-vehicles etc.), boating, non-timber product harvesting, etc. The program will focus on building peaceful and meaningful relationships with other land users, Nations, government agencies and the general public. This work will share information pertinent to Tl’azt’enne territorial jurisdiction, rights, developing cultural agility in addition to strengthening relations.
