Carcross Tagish First Nation

Things we are monitoring

Carcross Tagish First Nation is currently monitoring: tourism and recreation activity, especially mountain biking; hunting activity; mining activity; illegal firewood cutting; and the Southern Lake Caribou herd.

About our program

Carcross Tagish First Nation's (CTFN) program is delivered under the Heritage, Lands and Natural Resources Department and focuses on wildlife monitoring and monitoring both Settlement Lands and the territory for hunting, recreation, mining, illegal wood harvesting and tourism related activities and issues. CTFN monitors will increasingly be involved with protected areas co-management and implementation aspects of our Lands Interests Act and Planning and Development.
